Some Advice-Only financial advisors work more with early career professionals, divorced women, near retirees, state government employees, teachers, artists, athletes, … However, it’s not necessarily true that working with those demographics requires very specialized knowledge or skills. The specialization is more of a result from the advisor’s connections or targeted marketing.
Although there are some unique attributes in different demographics, financial planning needs also share very common themes. Most people don’t really need specialized financial planning.
